Romantic River and Lake Tour (Round Trip 4 days/3 nights)
Day 1:
Start from your hotel at Phuket at 07.30 a.m. and crossing the Sarasin Bridge to Khao Lak. Or: Start from your hotel in Khao Lak at 08.30 a.m. Meeting point at a coffee stop in Khokkloi.
From here we drive along the coast of Phang Nga Bay to visit the Pagoda Wat Bang Riang, which is situated on a hill and houses a relic of Lord Buddha. From the pagoda with its fine murals, you will enjoy the fantastic view over Phang Nga Bay. Now we drive to Surathanie, on the way we have lunch at a local restaurant. In Kanchanadit we visit a well known monkey school, where the short-tailed macaque monkeys are trained to collect the ripe coconuts from the tall palm trees. Time to discover the Tapi River, for about 2 hours we will then explore the river and the smaller tributaries, called klongs.
We will watch the every day life of the people along the river and enjoy the beautiful countryside with water palms beside the klongs.
After that we check in, at a city hotel. Until about 06.00 p.m. you may relax in your room. For dinner we visit a restaurant by the Tapi River.
At about 08.00 p.m. we start for a long tail boat ride to see millions of fireflies along the river mangroves of the Tapi. After about 60 minutes boat ride you will reach the brightly illuminated city with its nightlife. The tour ends at about 09.00 p.m. You will have the choice either to go back to your hotel or to explore the nightlife of Surathani for your own.
Day 2:
After breakfast check out and drive to Takun, on the way we visit a very old country temple.
We continue our tour to the Cheow Lan Lake, which is part of the Khao Sok National Park. Starting from the dam, we will show you during a 70 minutes long tail boat ride the fantastic scenery of the lake with its surrounding mountains, the bizarre limestone rocks and its virgin jungles. You will feel like in Jurassic Park (only without dinosaurs). Here we leave the boat and start for a 40 minutes walk through the rainforest.
The trail is safe to go, but you should wear strong shoes. At last we reach another small lake, which we will cross by a bamboo motor raft, which brings us to the entrance of a beautiful small cave. We will explore this cave, the so called Pakarang Cave (that means coral cave), and enjoy the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.
On the way back we stop at the raft house, where lunch will be served, time for swim in the lake. Thereafter we go back to the dam by our long tail boat.
Here the bus is waiting for us and will bring us to your resort at Khao Sok, Dinner at resort restaurant.
Day 3:
After breakfast, at about 09.00 a.m. checking out, now we discover the nature trail in the Khao Sok National Park, to learn more about one of the oldest rainforest in the world, it takes about 2 hours time. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
A short drive and we arrive our starting point for river canoeing for about 1.5 hours. From a small cave temple the canoes will start and you will enjoy the picturesque scenery along the river with its cliffs, jungles and farmland.
Thereafter our bus will bring us to Kuraburi on the way we stop at the view point cloud pass.
Check in at „Kuraburi Green View Resort“, which is situated in a picturesque forest valley with a small lake and a swimming pool. Overnight in romantic bungalows or rooms with bathroom. Dinner will be served in a natural atmosphere.
Day 4:
After breakfast, at about 09.00 a.m. checking out, we will visit the Sri Phang Nga National Park, which is joined with Khao Sok National Park. During a walk through thick primary rain forest, our experienced guide will show you the exciting flora and fauna of this extraordinary environment.
A bath beneath an impressing waterfall will refresh you, time for relax and feeding fishes. Our bus drive now to Khao Lak, on the way we stop at the historical tin mine city Takuapa.
Lunch we enjoy at the view point restaurant from Asia Safari Park. After lunch the elephants are waiting for you, to carry you through a wonderful countryside. Here you can enjoy the beautiful nature with charming views over the Khao Lak Bay. Thereafter you will have the chance to walk through the Mini Zoo and Orchid Garden. End of program.
Back to your hotel, at about 06.00 p.m. in Phuket or 04.00 pm in Khao Lak,
